SHELTER QUALITY ASSESSMENT
Girls Giving Back has been committed to transforming shelters in King and Snohomish County since 2009. We have been privileged to bring much needed resources and joy to our most vulnerable community members. Each renovation is unique to the needs of the shelter, residents and staff. In order to ensure our donors contributions have the most meaningful impact we assess shelters for 5 program, operations and environmental values:
sustainablility
Meeting the needs of the current residents without compromising the quality and the ability to keep your doors open is a priority for Girls Giving Back.
inclusion
Inclusion and being responsive to multiple dimensions of diversity is fundamental to creating a welcoming environment.
safety
Safety is fundamental to operational excellence. All people deserve to be protected from danger or injury; especially people recovering toxic conditions.
KINDNESS
Kindness has many benefits including increased happiness and a healthy heart. While it often requires courageousness it’s central to creating healthy relationships.
WELLNESS
Wellness programs are good at helping people develop and maintain healthy behaviors. Being in good health is the first step in creating life long change for people recovering from homelessness.
